Presidents’ Day In Cape Cod Should Inspire Us All

February 14th, 2012 by Mike Cassels

Happy 200th Birthday, Mr. Lincoln (Text of Gettysburg Address)Another year has passed since we wrote about this great country’s presidents, and it is with respect and awe that we include ourselves amongst those wishing to commemorate all American presidents, past and present, this coming Presidents’ Day.  We have renewed our studies on this country’s history and each time we are more fascinated and inspired by what we read. You may have noticed that we have another reason the be interested: the inn’s likeness to the White House! Guests love the idea that they are staying in a “mini” White House, although we have to say that we probably cannot compete with the opulence inside the building! If we have piqued your interest in staying at the inn, please check out our great winter deals for more information. We do hope to welcome you here soon.

The Inn at Cape Cod decorated for the holidays

There can be few historic streets in the western world so beautifully lit at Christmas time as The Old Kings Highway on Cape Cod. The proprietors of  sea captains houses, restaurants, stores and of course inns, seem to compete with each other for the most stunning Christmas lights and decorations. An evening drive along what is now known as Route 6A, is not to be missed, following a breathtaking sunset across Cape Cod Bay from our local boardwalk.

Crisp, sunny, Cape Cod winter days

February 7th, 2010 by cassels

There is nothing to compare with a gorgeous deep blue Cape Cod sky, especially in the winter. The sun shines, and being on Cape Cod really lifts the spirit of anyone who longs for the warmer weather. So what can a visitor do here in then winter? It’s so easy to get around, so you can drive to some wonderful vantage points, take a cup of steaming hot chocolate, and enjoy the spectacular ocean and marsh views. Wrap up well, and take an envigourating walk along the miles of unspoilt beaches.

And then return home to your home base, our Cape Cod Inn, ready for a splendid dinner in one of the Cape’s outstanding restaurants. Take a look at the Old Yarmouth Inn, for example, which is a short stroll from our inn. Wow, you can eat like royalty there! Or try another favorite of ours, the Blue Moon Bistro where the owners take so much pride in personally looking after you to ensure a perfect meal.

Of course the winter is a great time to take in all the latest movies, and on Cape Cod there is no shortage of movie houses, including a multi-screen right at the Mall! Shop, eat and watch all without putting your coat on!

Or how about a relaxing massage, there are numerous spas in the area, and you really will feel renewed after some deep tissue treatment, or a couples massage with your special partner.

All in all, a winter visit to Cape Cod should be on your “must do” list!

January 28th, 2009 by cassels

This sounds so good we shall probably go ourselves! On Saturday February 14th at 8pm and on Sunday 15th at 3pm the Cape Cod Symphony presents “The Phantom’s Leading Ladies”. The trio of Broadway “Christines” from The Phantom of the Opera will perform a tribute to the classics of Broadway, including everything from the golden eras of the 40′s and 50′s, pieces from the musicals Les Miserables and The Phantom itself, up to present-day pop. Between them the ladies have totalled more than 4000 performances on Broadway and on tour. The performances are at Barnstable Performing Arts Center in Hyannis, which is just a 15 minute drive from our Cape Cod Inn. Sounds great!
