Cape Cod in The Snow, The Spring & The Summer

February 18th, 2014 by Mike Cassels

061Well it sure has been a winter to remember here at the inn. Snow, snow and more snow seems to be the order of the day and Mike has become an expert (ex-pat) snow thrower and shoveler! But it is also very beautiful to look at from the warmth of your hearth, and any guests who have been here during the snow LOVE it! It also makes us think about the upcoming  season and how to make things better and different for our repeat (and new) guests. But we don’t want to give too much away except to say we hope not to disappoint!

We do have a great special running at the moment called “the early bird special”, which means you get discounted room rates for booking early in the year. Lots of guests take advantage of it, so why not take a look yourself? Click here to see all our specials and packages, including our Spring-fling and Whale-watching packages which are both very popular and also great value.

12062101_05We thought that a couple of lovely spring and summer shots would remind you of what is around the corner for us all. Roll on the spring!

Cape Cod luxury Inn and June 2013 News: Rail Service Returns

Re-opened railroad brings hundreds of visitors to Cape Cod

Our Cape Cod luxury inn and June 2013 news headline is: The rail service returns to Cape Cod after a long absence. Memorial weekend saw the first trains from Boston arriving with a few hundred visitors, an encouraging debut for this enterprising idea. The impact of the advertising campaign and just simple word of mouth should swell the numbers of passengers on the trains, which have a capacity of 1200. The Cape and Islands tourism industry can only benefit in the coming season.

Cape Cod is such a beautiful area at this time of year and with most attractions now open, it all makes for a great moment to visit. The freshness of spring is still in the air, and there are breath-taking views around almost every corner.

We took some time out a few days ago, to try Sesuit Harbor Café for breakfast with our friends. We chose a perfect morning to sit in the sun watching the boats coming and going in and out of this picturesque little harbor. It was a very enjoyable break from our innkeeping, and there is no better place to breath in the magic of Cape Cod and eat great food at the same time. It was a fitting moment to put everything into perspective, to take deep breaths and appreciate how fortunate and thoroughly spoilt we all are to be living and running our businesses in this little paradise of Cape Cod. Incidentally, The Sesuit Harbor Café should not be missed if you are planning a visit to The Cape. It is not only in a stunning location but also serves some of the freshest seafood around – the generous lobster roll is a particular favorite – for lunch or early dinner. You can bring your own wine or beer. Oh, and there is also a great raw bar.

Back here at our Cape Cod luxury Inn, there is much to tell of, following another winter of our ongoing upgrading program. Amongst other things The Sears Room has a stunning new bathroom. This replaced the remodeling that the previous owner did in 2006 – we just could not wait to get rid of it!

We have educational DVDs running in the inn’s Drawing Room for the first time this year, with interesting contributions from The National Seashore, Hyannis Whale Watcher, IFAW (The International Fund for Animal Welfare), The Dolphin’s Eye, Chronicle……..and more). This new feature at The Inn At Cape Cod will provide our guests with an interesting and varied perspective on Cape Cod and the Islands,  and perhaps enable them to focus more on the things that appeal to them. Our unlimited concierge will continue to be available alongside these films, to all our guests to help them get the most from their stay. Exciting isn’t it ?

Helen and I and our staff cannot wait to look after you, should you decide to stay with us at our Cape Cod luxury Inn. You could do a lot worse!

A Spring Fling to Remember at our Luxury Inn At Cape Cod

April 29th, 2013 by Mike Cassels

Daffodils Mean Spring! Why not treat yourself during these glorious spring days, to a well earned break here on Cape Cod at our luxury inn. Yes, the shovelling is over and those chores in the yard can wait a bit longer. Seize the moment and head for The Cape – the Spring is such a beautiful time of the year to enjoy the many things the area has to offer.

You may need somewhere to stay where you will be pampered in 5 star luxury. Somewhere that is tranquil yet well located to see most of the main attractions. Somewhere you can explore the history of Yarmouth Port, and find world class restaurants, beaches and nature trails within walking distance. The Inn At Cape Cod is that “somewhere” to hundreds of visitors from all over the world every year. Its magnificent antebellum building and shady landscaped grounds have a rich history of hospitality dating from the days of stagecoach travel. We cannot be sure, but we believe that our modern day guests will appreciate the level of comfort at our luxury inn that the 18th century traveller could only have dreamt of.

The daffodils and cherry blossom line the Old Kings Highway, the pastel coloured historic houses are being cleaned up after those February storms we had, the beaches and bike trails are looking inviting once again……….. we are ready for you! Seriously though, this is one of the best times to visit and “recharge the old battery”. Just a few advantages to mention: Most attractions open with no standing in line, prix fixe menus at many of the restaurants, the Right Whales may be visible ( and often audible ) from dry land, Route 28 has not yet become a car park, those clear deep blue skies and comfortable temperatures. The list is endless!

Go on, spoil yourselves. Let us welcome and care for you this Spring, for you to enjoy your very own “field of dreams”.

New York Motor Show brings Jaguars & media to Cape Cod

April 21st, 2011 by cassels

Last weekend Cape Cod saw the arrival of four new Jaguar cars, two Jaguar executives from the UK and a media group from Germany. To celebrate the launch of a  new model Jaguar XF we were asked to host eight VIP’s, who were enjoying some great Jaguar driving in beautiful Cape Cod spring sunshine, prior to the New York Auto Show which starts April 22. The inn has never seen such illustrious machinery in the parking lot at one time!

The group arrived from Europe on Sunday afternoon, and after settling in they raced off to shoot some gorgeous sunset photos before strolling next door to the Old Yarmouth Inn for a fantastic dinner.

The head Jaguar designer stayed in our most prestigious room, the Plantation Suite, where we hope he managed a little relaxation during his whirlwind visit. On Sunday morning, after an early breakfast at the inn, the media group spent some time touring  Cape Cod and taking more shots of their gorgeous cars in stunning settings. Then it was time to head towards New York to see the launch of the updated Jaguar XF.

Why not follow in their footsteps and book a break with us? Spring is so wonderful on Cape Cod, and we have some great deals on offer to tempt you. We hope to see you soon!
