Re-opened railroad brings hundreds of visitors to Cape Cod
Our Cape Cod luxury inn and June 2013 news headline is: The rail service returns to Cape Cod after a long absence. Memorial weekend saw the first trains from Boston arriving with a few hundred visitors, an encouraging debut for this enterprising idea. The impact of the advertising campaign and just simple word of mouth should swell the numbers of passengers on the trains, which have a capacity of 1200. The Cape and Islands tourism industry can only benefit in the coming season.
Cape Cod is such a beautiful area at this time of year and with most attractions now open, it all makes for a great moment to visit. The freshness of spring is still in the air, and there are breath-taking views around almost every corner.
We took some time out a few days ago, to try Sesuit Harbor Café for breakfast with our friends. We chose a perfect morning to sit in the sun watching the boats coming and going in and out of this picturesque little harbor. It was a very enjoyable break from our innkeeping, and there is no better place to breath in the magic of Cape Cod and eat great food at the same time. It was a fitting moment to put everything into perspective, to take deep breaths and appreciate how fortunate and thoroughly spoilt we all are to be living and running our businesses in this little paradise of Cape Cod. Incidentally, The Sesuit Harbor Café should not be missed if you are planning a visit to The Cape. It is not only in a stunning location but also serves some of the freshest seafood around – the generous lobster roll is a particular favorite – for lunch or early dinner. You can bring your own wine or beer. Oh, and there is also a great raw bar.
Back here at our Cape Cod luxury Inn, there is much to tell of, following another winter of our ongoing upgrading program. Amongst other things The Sears Room has a stunning new bathroom. This replaced the remodeling that the previous owner did in 2006 – we just could not wait to get rid of it!
We have educational DVDs running in the inn’s Drawing Room for the first time this year, with interesting contributions from The National Seashore, Hyannis Whale Watcher, IFAW (The International Fund for Animal Welfare), The Dolphin’s Eye, Chronicle……..and more). This new feature at The Inn At Cape Cod will provide our guests with an interesting and varied perspective on Cape Cod and the Islands, and perhaps enable them to focus more on the things that appeal to them. Our unlimited concierge will continue to be available alongside these films, to all our guests to help them get the most from their stay. Exciting isn’t it ?
Helen and I and our staff cannot wait to look after you, should you decide to stay with us at our Cape Cod luxury Inn. You could do a lot worse!
